Junior Staff Accountant | Four Seasons

• Mission: Assist the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, while also supervising other essential areas within the Finance Department.
What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Assist the Assistant Director of Finance in comprehensively maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations are performed.
• Finance Department Oversight: Provide supervision for other critical areas within the Finance Department, including payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant local and corporate policies and procedures.
• Month-End Financial Reporting: Execute key components of the month-end process, which involves preparing accurate financial statements, processing accruals, and generating journal entries, all while maintaining reconciliations for balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and according to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Budget and Forecast Preparation: Actively support the Assistant Director of Finance in the detailed preparation of all budgets and financial forecasts for the hotel operations.
• Account and Bank Reconciliations: Independently prepare and coordinate the monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations, with a responsibility to investigate and satisfactorily resolve any outstanding reconciling items in a timely manner.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An entry-level professional possessing a working knowledge of the company’s Accounting & Finance Manual and a good understanding of the current edition of USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry). Core domain knowledge includes generally accepted accounting principles.
• Experience: Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with the month-end process, including the preparation of financial statements, accruals, and journal entries, alongside maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations. Experience with bank reconciliations is also essential.
• Skills:
• Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver clear reports, effective presentations, and facilitate productive meetings.

• Ability to accurately and timely perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting tasks.
