The Tone:
This is an early career position at Leidos, offering remote work with preferred onsite presence in Newport News, VA; Lexington, MA; Orlando, FL; Charlottesville, VA; Omaha, NE; or Morgantown, WV. The company develops the Command and Control Incident Management Emergency Response Application (C2IMERA) program for the US Air Force. What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission-critical software source code using modern tools like Java.
• Lifecycle Management: Participate in the full software development lifecycle, utilizing Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git.
• Document: Support the creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing processes.
• Optimize: Plan and estimate development tasks, identify potential roadblocks, and build maintainable code that matches specifications.
• Test: Develop automated tests leveraging a continuous integration process and own the delivery of small parts of a system or application.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of experience or a Master’s degree. Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance or higher, with the ability to maintain it.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with Java/C++ and object-oriented programming, along with hands-on experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks such as React.
• Skills: Ability to apply software development process fundamentals, a strong self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages and tools, and the ability to complete tasks independently while collaborating effectively within an engineering team.
• Bonus: Familiarity with basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, REST, JSON, SOAP, WSDL), web application technologies (Apache Tomcat, JBoss), version control systems (Git), Agile Development methodologies, multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX), and Relational Database Management Systems (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
