The Opportunity: Junior Mine Engineer – EIT

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mine Engineer – EIT to join our team in a full-time capacity. This critical role involves significant project work located in the scenic North Idaho region, offering hands-on experience and direct impact on active mining operations and development projects.

As a Junior Mine Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing essential project engineering support, working closely with senior engineers and project teams.
  • Conducting detailed engineering analyses to inform decision-making and optimize mining processes.
  • Actively supporting and contributing to the efficiency and safety of ongoing mining operations.
  • Serving as a field engineer for active construction and development projects, gaining practical site experience.
  • Assisting in the development of clear and concise scopes of work for various project phases.
  • Defining critical tasks and milestones to ensure project timelines are met efficiently.
  • Preparing comprehensive technical reports and documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with senior engineers to ensure all project deliverables adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engaging in problem-solving activities and contributing innovative ideas to enhance project efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, we are seeking a candidate who possesses a strong foundation in mining engineering principles and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong foundational skills in Project Management and Mining Engineering.
  • A solid understanding of Hard Rock and Hard Rock Mining processes and operations.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain it in the near future.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with strong teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively within a professional environment.
  • Experience with relevant mining software is a definite plus.
  • A steadfast commitment to upholding the highest safety standards and environmental regulations.
