Junior Marketing Specialist | Serco Inc.

The Tone:
This is an early career role at Serco Inc., focused on nationwide travel to various military installations and events. Serco delivers vital services across Defense, Citizen Services, and Transportation sectors, supporting the U.S. military and federal agencies. This position is critical for representing the My Service Benefits (MSB) program, educating service members and their families on vital military benefits through engaging presentations and strategic outreach.

• Mission: Educate and inform service members, their families, and support staff about military benefits and resources through presentations and outreach.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Represent the MSB program and present benefits information to diverse audiences, including senior leaders and VIPs, at various events and conferences.
• Serve as a primary knowledge resource on all aspects of military benefits, including retirement, pay calculation, and survivor benefits, while training Retirement Services Officers.
• Conduct outreach to military commands to create new briefing and event opportunities, and contribute ideas for social media posts and website feedback.
• Prepare required administrative paperwork for events, such as travel authorizations and expense reports, and create tailored briefing slides for specific audiences.
• Assist the technical team by testing site calculators and other features and functions to ensure accuracy and usability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Advertising/Public Relations, Journalism, Business, English, or a related field. Early career level.
• Experience: 1 year experience providing presentations to various military audiences, including large groups of over 200 participants.
• Skills: U.S. Citizenship, ability to obtain a NACI clearance, comfort learning new applications and working with technology, and ability to travel up to 50%.
