Junior Low Voltage Technician | Evergreen Fire & Security (EFS)

The Tone:
This is an early career technician role at Evergreen Fire & Security (EFS), located in Tacoma, Washington. EFS designs, installs, and maintains advanced fire alarm, access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, and mass notification systems that protect lives, critical infrastructure, and sensitive information for federal, military, and commercial clients. This role is crucial for individuals eager to learn and grow in the electronic security and fire alarm industry, offering hands-on training and career advancement in high-impact security systems.

The TL;DR

• Location: Tacoma, WA
• Pay: $21–$25 hourly
• Team: Works closely with experienced technicians and site leads.
• Mission: To learn and apply knowledge in the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of various low-voltage security and life safety systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Installation Support: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of diverse low-voltage systems, including fire alarm, access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, and mass notification systems.
• System Operations: Support activities related to system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure proper functionality of security systems.
• Client Interaction: Provide professional customer service while representing Evergreen Fire & Security onsite with clients.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant state, federal, and safety regulations.
• Project Administration: Assist with service documentation, work orders, and general project administration tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with a low-voltage training certificate or related technical training, and basic knowledge of electrical wiring or electronics installation.
• Experience: Includes basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to schedule appointments, follow technical instructions, and meet code requirements.
• Bonus: Active government clearance, experience working on military bases or federal contracts, OSHA 30 certification, or a Low Voltage Trainee Card.
