Junior IT Helpdesk Technician II – Service Center | Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS)
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS), located in Washington, DC. CARS is dedicated to providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both within the U.S. and overseas, leveraging experienced Subject Matter Experts. This role is crucial for delivering essential in-person desktop support, Tier II technical troubleshooting, and workstation setup to users at FCC HQ and GB campuses. The ideal candidate will enhance their skills and build their career by supporting large-scale government operations.
The TL;DR

• Pay: $23.18–$24.04 hourly
• Mission: This person provides in-person desktop support and resolves hardware, software, and network issues for Federal Communications Commission users.
• Tech Stack: Ticketing systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, other Office applications
What You’ll Actually Do
• User Support: Respond to end-user tickets for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Communication: Write clear and straightforward email correspondence with users to relay pertinent information or instructions.
• Issue Tracking: Track and resolve issues using ticketing systems.
• VIP Service: Provide VIP support as needed and maintain documentation.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Provide Tier II technical troubleshooting and workstation setup.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Junior-level professional with a Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of relevant IT experience, OR a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience (unfinished college time can be counted). Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant IT support experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 4 years of relevant IT support experience with a high school diploma/GED.
• Skills:
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues effectively.
• Proficiency in using ticketing systems to track and resolve issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially for technical support and user correspondence.
• Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone.
• Bonus: Active CompTIA A+ certification.
