The Tone:

This role is critical for accelerating the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across the Compliance and Non-Financial Risk functions, strengthening how the company identifies, assesses, monitors, and manages various risks. You will connect business and risk management needs with AI’s capabilities, driving transformation from opportunity identification to measurable value.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify Opportunities: Work closely with Compliance and Non-Financial Risk teams to understand processes, challenges, and control needs, identifying specific opportunities where AI can improve risk identification, analysis, monitoring, controls, and decision-making.
• Design and Prototype Solutions: Collaborate with subject-matter experts to design, build, and test AI-enabled solutions, utilizing BBVA’s available AI capabilities and platforms.
• Drive Cross-Functional Implementation: Convene diverse teams including Compliance, Risk, Technology, Data, and Legal to progress promising ideas from use case to prototype, controlled implementation, and measurable value.
• Facilitate Solution Adoption: Help teams integrate new AI capabilities effectively into their existing processes, controls, and ways of working, ensuring they become genuinely useful solutions.
• Promote Responsible AI Use: Ensure AI capabilities are designed and implemented with appropriate consideration for information protection, privacy, security, accuracy, explainability, human oversight, and regulatory accountability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required. Senior-level expertise in Compliance, Risk, strategy, transformation, business, technology, data, analytics, automation, or process improvement.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in relevant domains, with hands-on experience using Generative AI to solve real business problems, including developing prototypes and iterating based on user feedback.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of the evolving AI landscape, particularly OpenAI and Google’s enterprise AI ecosystems and their agentic capabilities (e.g., ChatGPT Work, Gemini Enterprise, Google Flows); good understanding of prompting, AI assistants, agents, workflow automation, and how AI integrates with enterprise information; ability to assess opportunities for value and feasibility, considering technology, data, security, governance, and operational dependencies.
• Bonus: Knowledge of BBVA’s organization, culture, and ways of working is a plus.
