Junior Healthcare IT Project Manager – Detailed Job Description
This position, required by our governmental client, mandates U.S. Citizenship and an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one.
As a Junior Healthcare IT Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the delivery of specific workstreams within a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. Your primary responsibility will be to manage key domains such as Technical, Clinical/Functional, or Site Deployment, ensuring all activities align with established project objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints. This role demands strong facilitation skills to foster collaboration among diverse groups, including technical teams, clinical stakeholders, site leadership, and senior management. You will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating risks, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring strict adherence to both regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated Starting Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000
- Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Healthcare IT data transformation projects, specifically focusing on clinical and patient data domains.
- Establish structure, set expectations, and provide essential coordination across various subcontractors, technical teams, and stakeholders.
- Actively support critical initiatives such as Clinical Data Repositories (CDRs), clinical data pipelines, imaging workflows, and healthcare analytics platforms.
- Facilitate productive subcontractor and vendor meetings to ensure efficient execution and maintain accountability.
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and readiness across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including detailed schedules, RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs, regular status reports, and executive updates.
- Effectively communicate project progress, identified risks, and key decisions to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and change control processes to ensure continuous alignment with delivery objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities
- Active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.
- A strong background in Healthcare IT is preferred (ideally 60–70% of professional experience).
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects involving patient demographics, clinical data, or healthcare data platforms.
- Exposure to healthcare imaging workflows (e.g., DICOM, radiology, CT/X-ray imaging programs) is considered a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in managing technical teams responsible for delivering data transformation or integration initiatives.
- Experience coordinating activities within complex subcontractor and multi-vendor environments.
- Strong proficiency in risk management, dependency management, and project governance.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders, and vice versa.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance through the Government.
