Junior Financial Specialist | St. Michael’s
The Tone:
This is an entry-level financial position at St. Michael’s, located in Tampa, FL, with a hybrid work schedule. St. Michael’s is an employee-owned company committed to rewarding hard work and supporting individuals who contribute to national security by assisting Department of Defense customers. In this role, you will be a crucial part of a larger team, providing essential financial support and executing accounting actions for a DoD client. Your ability to learn quickly and operate efficiently will be paramount as you perform functional duties under senior oversight, contributing directly to critical financial operations.

• Mission: To assist in performing functional financial duties and executing accounting actions associated with a formal Tri-Annual review for a Department of Defense client.
• Tech Stack: DEAMS, EFD, GAFS BQ, ADVANA

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Advice: Provide advice and technical assistance on continuing resolution allocations, apportionments, allowances, and requests for additional funds.
• Purchase Document Management: Create Purchase Requests/Funding Documents (MIPR’s, Form 9’s) in the DEAMS system and manage their routing and follow-up for certification.
• Fund Authorization: Issue Funding Authorization Documents (FADs) in the EFD system to various Fund Centers.
• Data Processing: Process Fund Distribution Records (FDRs)/AF Form 1269 target loads utilizing both the DEAMS and GAFS BQ systems.
• Fund Status Monitoring: Review the daily Status of Funds to accurately determine available authority, commitments, and obligations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional possessing a Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Experience: Must hold an Active Secret Clearance; possess experience with automated tools; demonstrate proficiency in data entry; and be able to report on site 2 to 3 days per week.
• Skills: Ability to learn quickly, operate efficiently in a client-facing role, and support the larger team in executing accounting actions, including document reconciliation for all accounts.
