Junior Finance Analyst | Eccalon, LLC

This is an onsite Junior Finance Analyst role at Eccalon, LLC, located in Detroit, MI. This position is vital for supporting the accounting and finance functions by performing core tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthly close and reporting. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Daily Operations: Assist with daily accounting and finance operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manage Financial Records: Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger, and review, track, and reconcile invoices, expenses, and transactions.
• Facilitate Close & Reporting: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, along with financial statements, schedules, and internal reports.
• Perform Reconciliations: Conduct bank, credit card, and account reconciliations, identifying and assisting in resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Analyze Financial Data: Assist with budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis, and support accounts payable and receivable processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
• Experience: 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related internship, proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reconciliations, basic formulas), and familiarity with financial reporting, general ledger, accounting, or ERP systems.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, ability to manage deadlines in a structured accounting environment, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Interest in pursuing CPA, CMA, or other accounting/finance certifications.
