Equity Research Analyst | Allspring Global Investments

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Allspring Global Investments, located in Richmond, VA. Allspring Global Investments is seeking a junior Equity Research Analyst to support its CEF (Closed-End Fund) strategies. The successful candidate will work with a team of portfolio managers who manage investment portfolios of closed-end funds and ETFs. This role is crucial for providing analytical, reporting, and administrative support, enabling the portfolio management team to operate efficiently and effectively.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Produce, review, and manage various required reports including attribution and other investment analysis.
• Meeting Support: Assist in preparing meeting agendas, presentations, and documentation, and organizing topics for team meetings.
• Strategic Thinking: Demonstrate sound decision making and strategic thinking that aligns with business and team priorities.
• Calendar Management: Manage calendars for portfolio managers, analysts, and product specialist team members.
• Travel Coordination: Plan and coordinate travel arrangements, including preparing itineraries, solving logistical issues, and completing monthly expense reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree, with a background in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, along with some understanding of finance and economics.
• Experience: Ability to handle heavy workloads while remaining focused in a fast-paced environment; prior investment industry experience is preferred.
• Skills: Skillful use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook for calendar and email management, excellent written and oral communication skills, well-organized, independent thinker, and team player.
• Bonus: 1-2+ years of experience in an investment management or fund management environment; knowledge of Bloomberg.
