This role contributes to the Ports & Terminals Group within the infrastructure sector, which focuses on creating and constructing vital maritime infrastructure like container terminals and intermodal facilities. As a Junior Engineer, you will play a key part in planning, analyzing, and optimizing complex industrial transportation facilities, contributing directly to the efficiency and improvement of our cities’ essential goods movement.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $85000–$93000 annually
• Team: Ports & Terminals Group. Works under licensed Professional Engineers and planners as part of one or more project teams.
• Mission: Plan, analyze, and optimize complex industrial transportation facilities, supporting clients’ operational improvement initiatives through data analysis and software development.
• Tech Stack: Integrated computer systems, operational software, automated testing frameworks, simulators.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Optimize: Analyze and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness for complex industrial transportation facilities.
• Test: Assist Software Architects, Engineers, and Testers in designing, executing, and scripting automated software test cases for operational software.
• Develop: Develop functionality for Hatch testing tools, including automated testing frameworks and simulators.
• Report: Contribute to technical specifications, presentations, and written reports for studies, based on client input and engineering principles.
• Estimate: Assist with developing project scopes, engineering estimates, construction cost estimates, and developing methodologies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent or soon-to-be graduate pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Demonstrated strong interest in operations, logistics, systems/processes, and process optimization.
• Skills: Strong aptitude and proficiency in complex integrated computer systems and operational processes; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively on multi-disciplinary teams; commitment to achieving engineering excellence.
• Bonus: Previous Co-op or Internship experience; exposure to integrated computer systems and software used in transport and logistics.
