Position Overview: Junior Design Support Intern

We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Design Support Intern to join our social team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an emerging designer to gain practical experience across various design disciplines, including digital content, environmental design, and marketing materials. You will work closely with our Social Media Coordinator, learning the intricacies of brand design and contributing to projects that make a daily impact on our vibrant community.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Digital Content

  • Assist in designing graphics, animations, and video content for social media campaigns across Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Help create templates and ensure brand consistency across all social content.
  • Support the creation of Instagram Stories, Reels, and other short-form video content.
  • Edit and retouch photos and videos from community events and activations.
  • Design promotional graphics for member events, programming, and announcements.

In-Club Signage & Environmental Graphics

  • Support the design of wayfinding signage, directional graphics, and informational displays.
  • Create event signage, promotional posters, and graphics for in-club digital displays.
  • Assist with branded environmental graphics that enhance the member experience.
  • Ensure all materials meet brand guidelines and quality standards.
  • Assist with print collateral, including flyers, brochures, and membership materials.
  • Support branded merchandise concepts and promotional items.

Learning & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to execute content calendars and campaigns.
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
  • Learn to manage multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain organized asset libraries and design files.
  • Stay current on design trends and social media best practices.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing design skills across both digital and print mediums.
  • Working knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Basic video editing skills (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar software).
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms and their content formats.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to receive and effectively implement feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship or freelance design experience.
  • Basic motion graphics or animation skills.
  • Photography or videography experience.
  • Knowledge of Figma or other design tools in addition to those listed.
  • A personal social media or creative portfolio demonstrating your interests and perspective.
