Key Responsibilities

The Junior Associate will play a pivotal role in a diverse array of data privacy and cybersecurity matters, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting clients with critical data breach response and comprehensive incident management, navigating sensitive and urgent situations.
  • Supporting privacy-related litigation and regulatory response efforts, including interactions with governmental bodies.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of global privacy and cybersecurity compliance initiatives, addressing diverse regulatory frameworks.
  • Participating actively in complex corporate and transactional matters, advising on data protection aspects within M&A, private equity, and other commercial dealings. This includes drafting and negotiating data processing agreements (DPAs), reviewing vendor contracts, and addressing information security addenda.
  • Conducting in-depth legal research and drafting precise memoranda, internal policies (such as privacy policies), and transactional provisions related to data protection, cross-border data transfers, and SaaS privacy.
  • Gaining exposure to key concepts like standard contractual clauses (SCCs), controller-processor relationships, data maps, and data transfer impact assessments.

Qualifications

We are seeking highly capable candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience with U.S. state and federal privacy laws (e.g., CCPA, HIPAA, GDPR for international context) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, essential for drafting complex legal documents and client interaction.
