This role is crucial for translating complex analytic needs from U.S. government military and civilian customers into responsive, high-performance software applications within LMI’s RAPTR® platform. You will contribute to enhancing outcomes for defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors by developing robust back-end systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Write and maintain server-side logic to power application functionality, handle user requests, and manage data.
• Create: Design and build APIs that enable seamless communication between different application components.
• Manage: Design database schemas, write queries, and ensure the integrity and security of stored data.
• Collaborate: Work closely with front-end developers and cross-functional teams, including Integrated Product Teams, to integrate features and mature engineering artifacts.
• Optimize: Implement security measures, ensure application scalability, and conduct thorough testing to prevent downtime or degradation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM-based degree. Early career level.
• Experience: 1-3 years as a Back-End Software Application Developer with a demonstrated portfolio; experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; and efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Skills: Proficiency in modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Node.js, or Ruby; experience with both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases; familiarity with back-end frameworks like Django, Flask, Spring, or Express.js; understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git); strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Bonus: Experience with testing frameworks, knowledge of security practices, active TS with SCI eligibility, or space domain experience.
