What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Systems Development: Design, maintain, and develop data pipelines, databases, and repositories, including scripts, queries, and workflows for data collection, transformation, storage, and retrieval.
• Application Engineering: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web-based and internal applications, focusing on user interface design, accessibility, and performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather technical and functional requirements from stakeholders, translating them into specifications and development plans while documenting features and procedures.
• Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate emerging tools, programming frameworks, and data technologies to enhance system efficiency, scalability, and security.
• System Operations: Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, performance monitoring, proactive issue resolution, and ensure compliance with institutional data privacy and security policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or another appropriate field. This is an early career role.
• Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent with four years of relevant experience, or a combination of appropriate post-high school education and experience equivalent to four years.
• Skills: Data pipeline development, database management, web-based application development, scripting and querying for data, basic data modeling, UI design principles, and version control.
