Junior Accountant | TCWGlobal

The Tone:
This is a full-time, onsite role at TCWGlobal, located in Beverly Hills, CA. This position is integral to the Accounting & Finance team, specifically supporting a growing real estate investment company. The Junior Accountant will find an excellent opportunity to establish and build their career within real estate accounting, taking on increasingly complex responsibilities. What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations accurately.
• Support the monthly and quarterly financial close processes efficiently.
• Perform bank and intercompany reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for compliance.
• Assist with accounting for real estate investment entities, including acquisitions and dispositions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required. This role is ideal for individuals in the early stages of their accounting career who possess a solid foundational understanding of accounting principles and are keen to expand their expertise.
• Experience: Candidates should bring 1 to 5 years of general accounting experience, specifically including responsibilities beyond just AP clerk duties. Essential experience involves preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, managing accruals, and supporting month-end close processes. Prior experience within real estate, private equity, or other investment firm environments is highly valued.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must, alongside practical experience using an accounting or ERP system. A thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the full accounting cycle is expected. Key soft skills include excellent attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, clear communication, a positive attitude, and a proactive willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include direct experience in real estate or property accounting, particularly with private equity firms, investment companies, or other real estate-related organizations. Experience with multi-entity accounting, Sage Intacct, or Juniper Square platforms would be advantageous. Any exposure to complex transactions like acquisitions/dispositions, investor accounting, or managing distributions is also a significant plus.
