IT Systems and Application Analyst | Modesto City Schools

The Tone:
This is an IT Systems and Application Analyst role at Modesto City Schools, located in Modesto, CA. This position plays a crucial part in supporting the educational mission by ensuring the smooth operation and continuous development of the district’s technology infrastructure and applications. The analyst will contribute directly to maintaining essential IT services and developing solutions that enhance system functionality for staff and students.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Operations: Operate and maintain enterprise networking environments and computer systems, ensuring their reliable performance and availability.
• Application Development & Analysis: Conduct computer programming and application analysis, including developing and maintaining web pages and web-related applications using specified technologies.
• Data Management & Reporting: Manage databases and write queries, and develop both on-demand and automated end-user data reporting solutions.
• Automation & Scripting: Utilize PowerShell scripting to support various system functions and automate operational tasks within the network environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED or CHSPE). This is an early career role requiring a minimum of one year of experience in IT systems and application analysis. A Valid California Driver’s License is also required.
• Experience: One (1) year of experience in enterprise networking environments, computer systems and operations, and computer programming and application analysis. Specific experience is required with Windows, PowerShell scripting, network environments, web page development, and the development of on-demand and automated end-user data reporting.
• Skills: Competency in web-related programming with technologies such as ASP.NET, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, XML, HTML, or CSS. Proficiency in database and query management including SQL Server, Oracle, or Snowflake is also essential.
• Bonus: Competency in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Office 365.
