Its status provides the Comptroller’s office with direct access to specialized investment services and programs, aiming to achieve the highest return at the lowest cost to the state.
Job Description
Join TTSTC as an IT Support Systems Analyst Intern in the Business Ops/IT Section. This entry-level IT support role involves providing customer support for agency information technology systems and operating automated office equipment within stand-alone, network, or mainframe environments. The intern will contribute to keeping the Texas economy strong by supporting essential IT functions.
Work Hours
Agency standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. Hours are subject to change based on business need or division determination.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist desktop administrators with the installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting of TTSTC specific software.
- Assist with the support and configuration of desktop, laptop, handheld, video conference, printer, and peripheral equipment.
- Provide support for relocations related to onboarding and offboarding of staff, temporary personnel, and contractor hardware.
- Assist with inventory management and desktop, printer, and peripheral maintenance with vendors.
- May coordinate and resolve issues reported via workstation monitoring and protection software.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited four-year college or university, OR a recent graduate within one year, with major coursework in:
- Computer Science
- Computer Information Systems
- Management Information Systems
- IT-related field
- Professional or academic experience in one of the following:
- Customer support and/or desktop workstation support.
- Imaging/deploying desktop workstations with Windows operating systems.
- Deploying software packages to workstations.
- Hardware/Software updates to workstations or computer-related devices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products including intermediate knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel (including the use of macros)
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Visio
- Adobe Acrobat Professional
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Windows environment.
- Experience with a software program to package and distribute software to a Windows environment.
- Practical experience working with Hardware in a Windows environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 7 or higher.
- Experience with system scripting languages and system utilities.
- Experience with Microsoft system utilities and FTP.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe integration with third-party products.
- Experience with Web publishing and web publishing software; conference room audio and video equipment.
- Experience with DOS batch files, PowerShell, Python, PERL scripting, and/or VBScripting.
- Experience with Windows 10 Professional, and Mac OSx 10 or higher.
- Canon experience.
