Job Summary
This position is designed to provide essential basic company-wide IT support, offering a foundational role with significant opportunities for learning and development across various IT domains.
Key Responsibilities & Opportunities for Growth
This role offers a comprehensive introduction to various facets of IT, with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and mentorship:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Provide basic support related to hardware, software, mobile/desk phone, printers, and conference room equipment.
- Gain exposure to and utilize an IT ticketing system.
- Maintain comprehensive hardware and software inventory.
- Coordinate the repair or replacement of serviceable hardware.
- Image and configure new laptops.
- Gain hands-on experience with networking by assisting team members on-site.
- Assist with developing company databases.
- Gain experience with working inside server rooms to install networking and server equipment.
- Work alongside team members to prevent, detect, and remediate cyber threats.
Quality Control Responsibilities:
- Practice procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) on a daily basis.
- Demonstrate the ability to proof-read self-generated documentation.
Design Responsibilities:
- Gain experience to perform basic network design with guidance from senior staff.
- Gain basic understanding of electrical and mechanical system design.
- Develop basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) systems, network infrastructures, and computer system design, particularly as it relates to control system integration.
Customer and Project Management Responsibilities:
- Communicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and under budget.
- Understand the scope of work assigned, identify when issues arise that are beyond that scope, and communicate those issues to the assigned project lead.
Mentoring and Training Responsibilities:
- Actively seek knowledge from senior staff members.
- Maintain open and direct communication with senior staff members.
- Engage in independent study, outside of work, to become familiar with the technologies being used.
- Be a self-starter, and spend the extra time and energy required to develop the skill set necessary to advance your career.
- Maintain professional relations with co-workers, offer assistance when possible, ask for help and guidance when necessary, and always treat co-workers with respect.
Work Authorization & Other Requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Fit for Duty at all times.
