Job Title: IT Software Development Intern
Department: IT – Software Development Team
Mesirow is currently seeking an intern to join its IT department’s Software Development team. This internship is designed for savvy, adaptable students who are passionate about technology and capital markets, offering a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on and real-world experience.
Responsibilities
- Modify and maintain existing software applications utilizing technologies such as C#, Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
- Translate business requirements into functional code.
- Provide support and maintenance duties as required.
- Work closely with the software development team, end-users, and management to define requirements.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Development.
- Anticipated graduation in May 2027.
- Must have a GPA of 3.5 or above.
- Possess sound Programming Fundamentals with a clear understanding of:
- Object Oriented programming
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Procedural programming
- Functional programming
- Knowledge and experience in the use of all Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent analytical and math skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to interact well with various levels of personnel.
Compensation
In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated compensation for this role will be $20.00 per hour for the duration of the program.
