The role is task-focused, providing direct, hands-on experience with core security functions while operating under established procedures and close supervision from senior security staff.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Security Operations: Assist with monitoring and triaging alerts related to malware, phishing, endpoint security, firewall activity, and intrusion detection systems, while escalating potential security incidents in accordance with established procedures.
• Vulnerability & Asset Support: Support senior staff with vulnerability management activities, including collecting scan results, validating asset inventories, tracking remediation status, and reviewing basic validation of remediation for mitigated systems.
• Risk & Compliance: Help support information security risk assessments by collecting evidence and documentation, assisting with questionnaires and control validation, and maintaining risk tracking documentation, including audit evidence.
• Policy & Awareness: Assist with enhancements, enforcement, and communication of information security policies, standards, and procedures, and support security awareness initiatives such as phishing simulations and employee training tracking.
• Business Continuity: Assist with distributing Business Impact Analysis questionnaires, tracking responses, normalizing data into BIA worksheets or SharePoint lists, and engaging with Disaster Recovery Program activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional supporting an Information Security Program, with a foundational understanding of maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, data, and information assets within a financial services context. Familiarity with compliance requirements like GLBA and FFIEC guidance is key.
• Experience: This entry-level position provides hands-on experience with core security functions, operating under established procedures and supervision. Responsibilities include daily security operations, monitoring, and administrative activities.
• Skills: Assisting with monitoring and triaging security alerts, supporting vulnerability management tasks, collecting evidence for risk assessments and audits, contributing to security policy communication and enforcement, and maintaining accurate security records. Collaboration with IT teams and business units to gather security review information is also important.
