IT Solutions Associate | World Food Programme
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at the World Food Programme, located in Antananarivo, Madagascar, available as both a Fixed Term and Service Contract. The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, dedicated to saving lives in emergencies and fostering peace through food assistance. This position provides essential technical support for the development, maintenance, and installation of IT solutions, directly contributing to the organization’s operational efficiency and global mission.

• Team: ICT Unit, reporting to the Unit Manager, Service Chief, or IT Solutions Developer
• Mission: Provide technical support for the elaboration, maintenance, testing, and installation of IT solutions in alignment with operational needs.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Development: Write code to support the creation and implementation of efficient and effective IT solution components.
• Documentation: Maintain current technical documentation for developed IT solutions to facilitate system maintenance.
• Testing: Perform unit or integrated tests on new code, existing code improvements, or patches to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications.
• Deployment: Assist with the installation, configuration, and customization of IT systems, ensuring compliance with WFP IT standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• User Support: Independently respond to user queries, escalating as necessary, to resolve common IT issues and provide accurate information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of secondary education; a post-secondary certificate in the functional domain is desirable.
• Experience: At least six years of relevant experience, including assisting IT team members in technical skill development and gaining technical knowledge through IT operations experience.
• Skills:
* Ability to design, code, test, debug, and document programs based on specifications.
* Knowledge of IT governance structure and system architecture to facilitate operations.
* Basic understanding of project management principles for planning and resource estimation.
* Proficiency in French (C level).
• Bonus: Knowledge of English.
