IT Intern for Workflow Automation | WD

What You’ll Actually Do
• Workflow Analysis: Assist in identifying and analyzing workflow inefficiencies across the organization to pinpoint automation opportunities.
• Solution Design: Contribute to the design, configuration, and implementation of automated workflows using various tools and technologies.
• Documentation & Optimization: Help maintain comprehensive documentation for automated workflows and standard operating procedures, and support the ongoing monitoring and optimization of existing automated processes.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal IT teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and managed service providers to gather requirements and identify high-priority automation opportunities.
• User Enablement: Support the development and delivery of communications and training materials to engage end users and increase adoption of new self-service options.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. This position is designed for a student eager to apply technical and communication skills to real-world challenges.
• Experience: While no prior work experience is strictly required, candidates should possess familiarity with core workflow automation concepts and the types of tools used in this domain. A basic understanding of process automation, scripting, or workflow tools is essential.
• Skills: Essential skills include basic programming proficiency, particularly with languages such as Python or JavaScript. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are crucial for identifying inefficiencies and designing effective solutions. Candidates must also exhibit excellent attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to collaborate productively within a team environment. Furthermore, a foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure and cloud computing platforms is beneficial.
• Bonus: Relevant academic projects or personal initiatives demonstrating an interest in workflow automation or IT solutions are highly valued. Direct experience or familiarity with IT Service Management concepts, specifically with platforms like ServiceNow or Moveworks, or similar automation tools, would be a significant advantage.
