The Tone:
This is an IT Internship at BAE Systems, Inc., located in Nashua, NH, operating under a hybrid work model. The IT Internship Program itself offers a broad and integrated understanding of enterprise-level service delivery. • Team: Integral part of the nationwide LEAP (Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress) Internship & Co-Op Program, focusing on providing hands-on experience across various IT skillsets within enterprise-level service delivery.
• Mission: Solve analytical problems and extract useful business insights from data, helping to influence business direction and improve IT service delivery within a comprehensive 12-week program.
• Tech Stack: Splunk, ArcSight, Nessus Security Center, CrowdStrike, CyberArk (security tools); R, Python, Bash, Java, PowerShell (scripting); SharePoint/Teams (collaboration); Linux OS, RedHat, UNIX operating systems, eDirectory, Identity Management Concepts, Active Directory (OS/directory services).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to extract useful business insights and inform decision-making processes.
• Business Influence: Identify actionable insights, formulate recommendations, and effectively communicate these results to cross-functional groups to influence business direction.
• Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements in existing tools and techniques to help scale team capabilities and efficiency.
• Agile Collaboration: Work effectively and contribute within an agile environment alongside distributed teams.
• Knowledge Management: Contribute to the development of an internal wiki for cross-training purposes, utilizing platforms like SharePoint and Teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently a Rising Junior, Senior, Recent Graduate (within one year), or Graduate Student (Graduating May or Dec.) pursuing a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or Information Systems.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches and prior experience working effectively within an agile environment.
• Skills: A curious, self-driven, and analytical mindset with an enthusiasm for working with data, ability to adapt in a changing work environment, strong communication skills for presenting insights, and a proactive approach to identifying and suggesting process improvements.
• Bonus: Knowledge of security tools such as Splunk or CrowdStrike, comfort performing system administration on a shell/command line interface, development experience in scripting languages like Python or Java, familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), experience with Machine Learning, or excellent customer service skills.
