Job Description: Investor Relations Internship
This internship offers a ten-week immersion into the financial markets through the lens of CSX’s methods and culture. As an intern, you will work closely with leaders across the company, contributing to strategic messaging aimed at the external financial community.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of what you’ll do:
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
• Provide Analytical Support: Contribute to investor presentations, earnings reports, internal strategy documents, and other market data requests from executives.
• Cultivate Relationships: Collaborate with internal business partners to help the Head of IR shape external messaging on operational, commercial, and financial aspects of the company.
• Consult and Communicate: Present your analyses to senior management.
• Data Analysis: Develop and utilize tools to quantify sell-side and buy-side expectations, identifying new trends or changes.
• Investor Management: Assist with investor targeting, tracking, and daily communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Age: At least 18 years old.
• Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited institution.
• GPA: Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Major: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Graduation Timeline: Anticipated graduation within a year after the internship ends.
• GPA: Minimum 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
Knowledge and Skills:
• Financial Acumen: Academic distinction with a strong interest and talent in finance or quantitative analysis.
• Market Knowledge: A solid understanding of financial markets, particularly equities.
• Leadership and Initiative: Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to senior audiences.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
