Job Description
This position is for an Investment Intern within the prestigious and competitive Team Kentucky Internship Program (TKIP), hosted at the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA).
The Team Kentucky Internship Program is designed to introduce talented and motivated college students to the world of public service. It offers participants:
• Meaningful and relevant work experience within state agencies.
• Valuable professional development activities.
• Extensive networking opportunities with other interns across the Commonwealth, as well as with program and field professionals and state government leaders.
As an Investment Intern at KPPA, your daily role will involve performing functions typical of an investment analyst. This experience aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of investments, portfolio management, investment research, and the operation of pension funds.
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
• A major in business, finance, or economics.
• Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
• Skills in financial modeling.

Eligibility and Program Requirements for TKIP:
To be considered for a position in the Team Kentucky Internship Program, applicants must:
• Be enrolled at an accredited Kentucky post-secondary school or other educational institution approved by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet.
• Be in good standing with their school, maintaining at least a 2.5 grade point average at the time of hire.
• Graduating high school seniors currently enrolled in college courses with a 2.5 GPA may also qualify.
• Candidates must be 18 years of age by May 15, 2026.
• Interested applicants are required to upload their unofficial transcript when applying.
Upon selection, program participants are required to fulfill specific commitments:
• Attend the TKIP Orientation.
• Attend at least one Professional Development Day.
• Attend at least one Agency Tour.
• Complete a total of 300 working hours throughout the program.
• Submit a final project.
• Attend the TKIP Reception.

• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
• SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be 18 years of age at the time of employment.
• Must be enrolled on a full-time basis as a graduating high school senior currently enrolled in college-level courses OR a college-level student enrolled at an accredited Kentucky post-secondary school or other educational institution approved by the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet.
• Applicants must furnish proof of enrollment in such a program to the Personnel Cabinet.
• Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment. The employing agency is responsible for ensuring the employee possesses and maintains these requirements.
