Contract Investment Banker (Generative AI – Finance) | Kensho Technologies

The Tone:
This is a contract role at Kensho Technologies, located remotely with an office in New York, NY. Kensho, S&P Global’s hub for AI innovation and transformation, develops and deploys novel solutions using machine learning, natural language processing, and data discovery. The company focuses on business and financial generative AI applications, agents, and data retrieval APIs. This role is crucial for contributing to the development of generative AI tools for financial modeling and transaction analysis, helping AI systems learn to perform core banking tasks at a professional standard.

• Mission: Serve as a domain expert, leveraging real-world investment banking experience to help AI systems learn to perform core banking tasks and define best-in-class banking workflows.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Produce: Create high-quality investment banking deliverables, including valuation analyses and financial models, used to train and evaluate AI systems.
• Build: Develop financial models that adhere to industry-standard conventions, structure, and presentation.
• Decompose: Break down complex transaction logic into clear, step-by-step reasoning that can be learned by AI systems.
• Review: Assess AI-generated banking outputs for financial accuracy, internal consistency, soundness of assumptions, professional formatting, and analytical rigor.
• Provide: Offer detailed feedback to improve AI model reliability, realism, and its handling of edge cases.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced Investment Banking professionals with a strong technical foundation in financial modeling, valuation, M&A and capital markets transactions, accounting, and financial statement analysis.
• Experience: 3-7 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or transaction-focused advisory roles.
• Skills: Financial modeling and valuation, M&A and capital markets transaction knowledge, accounting and financial statement analysis, deep familiarity with banking analysis structure and presentation, ability to clearly explain modeling or valuation decisions, high attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience across multiple transaction types, exposure to both pitch and execution work, prior experience mentoring or reviewing junior analysts’ work, curiosity about how automation and AI may augment financial services workflows.
