Investment Banking Associate – Healthcare Services | William Blair

• Mission: To support new business development and transaction execution by performing extensive financial analyses and leading due diligence for investment banking products and services within the Healthcare Services sector.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis & Valuation: Perform extensive financial and valuation analyses for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions, including building advanced financial models and guiding Analysts’ work.
• Transaction Leadership: Lead due diligence, research, and documentation for potential and active transactions, anticipating and communicating potential deal issues to the team.
• Client Engagement & Presentations: Develop, produce, and deliver proposals and presentations to clients and prospects, showcasing William Blair’s investment banking product solutions and actively participating in client meetings.
• Industry Expertise & Strategy: Research and expand expertise in the Healthcare Services sector, monitoring key industry drivers, offering business insights, and targeting specific clients or industries.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Act as an “on the job” trainer for Analysts and summer interns, providing constructive feedback to improve work product quality and ensuring compliance with regulations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required, with a deep and sophisticated understanding of accounting and finance principles essential for investment banking.
• Experience: Prior investment banking experience required; 2+ years as an Investment Banking Associate is strongly preferred. Internship or prior work experience in the financial services industry is also preferred.
• Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities, excellent mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills. Demonstrated effective leadership and coaching skills, along with the ability to manage expectations across multiple projects.
• Bonus: An MBA is strongly preferred. Candidates must acquire the SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 within 150 days of employment (for US only).
