Investment Banking Analyst I/II – Defense & Government | Raymond James

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Raymond James, located in a company office. What You’ll Actually Do
• New Business Formulation: Formulate comprehensive new business proposals and actively participate in their development, ensuring they align with strategic objectives within the Defense & Government sector.
• Financial Modeling & Valuation: Develop detailed company forecasts and valuations, providing essential financial modeling input for business cases, costs, and schedules to support growth and strategic planning.
• M&A Scenario Evaluation: Evaluate complex merger and acquisition scenarios, conducting thorough analysis of specific problems and issues to identify and recommend optimal solutions.
• Transaction Documentation: Prepare all necessary documents related to the public and private issuance of stock, contributing to every aspect of the transaction process, including participating in critical drafting sessions.
• Strategic Research & Reporting: Conduct in-depth research using primary data sources, selecting information for key themes and trends, and write and edit material tailored for various target audiences, summarizing findings for decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree (Required). This is an early career role, designated as an Analyst I or II, making it suitable for individuals with foundational professional capabilities aiming to develop expertise in investment banking within the Defense & Government sector.
• Experience: Candidates should possess between 13 months to 3 years of general work experience, demonstrating a readiness to apply learned skills in a demanding financial environment.
• Skills: Key skills include the ability to determine and analyze trends effectively from collected data; applying appropriate analytical processes and procedures to consistently support research schedules; interpreting complex data by examining patterns, trends, relationships, and implications to draw clear, meaningful conclusions and answer critical questions; and professionally interpreting financial information to directly support robust business decision making.
