Upstream Investment Banking Analyst | Pickering Energy Partners

The Tone:

This role is crucial for supporting the Upstream practice by managing workstreams across a diverse range of transactions, directly contributing to world-class strategic advice and long-term value for clients. What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Lead complex financial analysis, including net asset valuation, discounted cash flow, precedent transactions, and public trading comparables, to provide actionable insights for strategic decisions.
• Market Research: Monitor industry trends and conduct deep-dive market research to produce actionable reports that guide client strategic decision-making.
• Client Communication: Drive the creation of high-impact client presentations, pitch books, and deal-related marketing materials to effectively communicate opportunities.
• Due Diligence: Spearhead the due diligence process by analyzing financial statements, assessing complex business risks, and identifying key value drivers for potential deals.
• Deal Management: Manage the operational lifecycle of financial transactions, ensuring effective communication between all parties and seamless execution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Core domain knowledge in investment banking, accounting, private equity, or corporate development within the energy value chain.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of analogous financial experience is preferred. Ability to start immediately is preferred.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, Enverus, or Novi Labs. A deep-seated interest in energy markets and a strong grasp of global financial trends, combined with the entrepreneurial grit to manage multiple high-priority tasks.
