The Tone:
This is a full-time Analyst position, offered by Selby Jennings on behalf of a leading Boutique investment bank. This firm is headquartered in San Francisco and is currently expanding its Technology Group, which is widely recognized for its strong leadership, deep industry relationships, and consistent execution across technology transactions. This specific role is crucial for candidates looking to deepen their expertise in one of the most critical sectors in global finance. The Analyst will play a key role in executing deals, performing comprehensive financial analysis, managing client communications, and contributing significantly to strategic advisory efforts for high-profile clients and landmark transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Execution: Play a key and active role in the execution phase of complex investment banking transactions, ensuring smooth and timely progress.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial modeling, in-depth valuation analysis, sophisticated LBO analysis, and assist in deal structuring, providing critical insights.
• Client Communications: Facilitate effective client communications and directly contribute to strategic advisory efforts, building strong relationships and offering valuable guidance.
• Document Preparation: Prepare essential transaction materials including detailed pitch books, Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs), comprehensive board materials, and persuasive management presentations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional possessing a solid and demonstrable foundation in accounting principles, corporate finance methodologies, and an understanding of current market trends.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 months of hands-on investment banking experience is required, demonstrating practical exposure to the sector’s demands.
• Skills: Proven proficiency in advanced financial modeling, valuation techniques, LBO analysis, and effective deal structuring; exceptional communication skills, encompassing both written and verbal presentations, paired with a strong executive presence; and the ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams, collaborate cross-functionally, and thrive in a demanding environment while maintaining high professionalism and meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Bonus: Prior investment banking experience preferably gained within capital markets or technology coverage is considered a significant advantage.
