The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at FSJ PARTNERS, located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Our client is a boutique investment bank specializing in the Biotech/Life Sciences sector, seeking an Investment Banking Analyst 1 or 2 to join their team. This position is crucial for supporting deal execution and advisory engagements, providing direct exposure to a broad range of transactions within a specialized industry. The role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work to clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Construct detailed financial models to support transaction analysis and advisory engagements.
• Research & Presentation: Conduct comprehensive company and industry research, then prepare professional pitch books and client presentations.
• Valuation & Diligence: Execute various valuation analyses and actively assist with all phases of the due diligence process.
• Transaction Coordination: Organize and manage data rooms, while coordinating effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders throughout transactions.
• Market Analysis: Monitor market developments, analyze financial statements, and contribute to the preparation of marketing materials and transaction documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; this is an early career position requiring core domain knowledge in investment banking.
• Experience: Prior internship or work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or related fields is highly beneficial, alongside a strong understanding of capital markets, valuation methods, and transaction structures.
• Skills: Advanced Financial Modeling capabilities with proficiency in Excel, excellent Analytical Skills including financial statement analysis and data interpretation, and strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings.
• Bonus: Advanced coursework or certifications, such as a CFA, are a plus.
