Job Description: Investment Analyst
TDK Ventures is seeking a brilliant Investment Analyst to join their elite investing team. Reporting to an Investment Director, the Analyst will be significantly involved in all aspects of the investment cycle. This is a hands-on role with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Market Mapping & Opportunity Identification: Synthesizing comprehensive startup and technology maps within the digital transformation megatrend (especially AI, Generative AI, and computing), identifying strategic spaces (hardware and software), and curating investment opportunities. This requires deep analysis of market and technology trends reports.
• Investor Relationship Management: Regularly updating lists of current and potential co-investors, tracking their activities and investments to identify suitable partners for future financing rounds.
• CRM Management: Documenting relevant information from trusted sources in the company’s CRM system regarding startups in strategic spaces, highlighting key learnings and next steps.
• Investment Proposal Support: Creating supporting materials for investment proposals, weekly project reviews, and TDK Ventures briefings based on investment priorities set by Investment Directors.
• Due Diligence Support: Assisting Associates and Investment Directors in due diligence activities, including financial modeling, market research, IP analysis, customer calls, and technology analyses.
• Deal Flow Management: Managing the deal flow funnel and interactions with entrepreneurs, venture capitalist partners, other CVC partners, and internal TDK colleagues.
• Investment Committee Presentations: Creating presentation materials for investment committee review, articulating investment theses, and highlighting key transaction considerations and unique insights.
• Due Diligence Participation: Participating fully in due diligence, including financial modeling, business and market assessment, deal structuring, and customer and management reference calls.
• Portfolio Company Support: Supporting existing investments through internal reporting, business development opportunities, and follow-on transactions.
Qualifications:
• Required: A technical degree (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering). A PhD is highly preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, consulting, or investment banking (full-time or part-time).
