Investment Accounting Intern 2027 | CNO Financial Group

• Mission: This person will support the Investment Accounting team by assisting with daily tasks, financial reporting, and system optimization to ensure accurate investment data.
• Tech Stack: Singularity investment accounting system, Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Assist with data entry, validation, and maintenance within the investment subledger database to support investment accounting systems.
• Prepare: Prepare monthly and quarterly workpapers and supporting documentation required for financial reporting and account reconciliations.
• Optimize: Support the pre/post implementation and ongoing optimization of the Singularity investment accounting system through testing, data validation, and process documentation.
• Analyze: Participate in quality control activities and analyze investment accounting data to verify accuracy, completeness, improve organization, and create control and reporting efficiencies.
• Research: Conduct basic analysis of account balances and variances, and assist with cash balancing activities including researching suspense transactions and preparing financial reporting schedules.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with current status as a rising junior or senior (approximate graduation dates of December 2027-June 2029).
• Experience: Availability to work 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks during the summer internship program (May 17 through August 06, 2027). Candidates should be located in the Central or Eastern US time zone, or willing to work those business hours.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of investment accounting processes, financial reporting requirements, and industry regulations, with an ability to assist with data entry, validation, and account reconciliations. Analytical skills for reviewing account balances and variances.
• Bonus: Prior internship experience, experience balancing education with a part-time job, demonstrated interest in investments and financial markets, or hands-on experience with AI and desktop data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel. Participation in university clubs is also a plus.
