Inventory Control Manager | Airgas

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Airgas, located in Salem, NH, with other potential locations in Albany, NY, and Waterford, CT. Airgas is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, hardgoods, safety products, and chemicals. This position is vital for ensuring compliance with regional hardgoods inventory policies, advancing accurate inventory management, and contributing to established financial goals through diligent oversight and process improvement.

• Team: Northeast Region management supporting branches and plants
• Mission: Responsible for supporting compliance with hardgoods inventory policies and advancing accurate inventory management and reporting to meet financial goals.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Google Office, MS Office (Excel, Word)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Guidance: Partner with, support, and guide hardgoods cycle counts at plants and branches to ensure accurate physical inventories.
• Variance Resolution: Review and approve inventory adjustments, collaborating with plant and branch personnel to determine the root cause of variances.
• Program Support: Assist branches with bolt-on programs, inventory promotions, new product launches, and other vendor or Radnor-sponsored inventory initiatives.
• Operational Metrics: Provide branch-based reporting to measure inventory turns, inactive inventory, adjustments, and other relevant performance metrics.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement necessary process changes and solutions, including new SOPs, to reduce or eliminate inventory variances.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level professional with a Degree in Business, Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in inventory management.
• Experience: Ideally 3 years of inventory management experience, with demonstrated experience in inventory analysis.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, process design expertise, high attention to detail, effective organization and time management with competing priorities, and excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and teamwork skills, including diplomacy.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of SAP, or a background in bulk/gas industry analysis or analytical finance.
