Job Description: Internship – Sustainable UVgel Ink Development
Canon Production Printing seeks a WO Chemistry or Materials Science student for a challenging internship focused on developing sustainable UVgel inks for inkjet printing applications. The company’s UVgel technology, utilized in products like the Colorado series, offers advantages over other printing technologies. This internship aims to advance this technology by creating a new generation of eco-friendly UVgel inks with integrated functionalities.
Assignment Details:
The intern will be responsible for the design and formulation of a range of sustainable UV inks using various reactive monomers for inkjet printing. This will involve:
• Formulating inks with a focus on sustainability.
• Evaluating ink performance, including curing efficiency and print robustness.
• Investigating the influence of different reactive monomers on print quality.
The goal is to expand the application of Canon’s UVgel technology into new areas, such as high-quality graphics and sustainable packaging.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Research background in chemistry or materials science
• Experience with coating formulation
• Result-driven and self-motivated work ethic
• Teamwork skills
• Availability for 5-9 months, minimum 4 days per week (flexible start date)
