Job Description: Internship Program
Kokosing’s Internship Program is designed to provide practical, hands-on construction experience to supplement your education while earning a paycheck. The internship aims to expand your knowledge of the construction industry through direct project involvement.
Kokosing offers internships in the following specializations/divisions:
• Carpentry: Working in the form shop to help create concrete forms and other items used on construction projects.
• Welding: Repairing heavy equipment and fabricating pieces used in heavy highway bridge and structural construction.
• Auto/Equipment Mechanics: Maintaining and repairing company vehicles and other specialized construction equipment.
• Mid-sized equipment/Electrical: Repainting small construction equipment (generators, pumps, etc.).
• Supply Department: Providing tools, supplies, and other resources to field operations.
• Yard: Pulling, organizing, and filling orders to be shipped to projects.
Key Aspects of the Internship:
• Hands-on Experience: Interns are not just trainees, but actively work with full-time employees who provide guidance and training.
• Project Responsibilities: Interns will be involved with and have specific project responsibilities assigned to them.
• Firsthand Exposure: Daily activities provide firsthand experience with applicable processes and management methods.
• Structured Learning: Supervisors and project staff structure work efforts to help interns learn about their area of interest while contributing to project completion.
• Increasing Responsibility: Work assignments offer increasing challenges and responsibility based on your abilities.
• Diverse Exposure: Assignments are in a variety of situations to allow interns to develop technically, broaden their practical background, and explore their own interests.
