Serif Biomedicines, Market Intelligence and Strategy Internship | Flagship Pioneering
The Tone:
This is an internship at Serif Biomedicines, located in Cambridge, MA. Serif Biomedicines is an early-stage biotechnology company, founded by Flagship Pioneering, focused on pioneering Modified DNA to address significant unmet medical needs. Flagship Pioneering invents and builds platform companies, having created over 100 life sciences companies addressing major needs in human health and sustainability. This role will contribute to competitive intelligence, market analysis, and strategic initiatives by generating insights that inform critical internal decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor: Conduct market and competitive intelligence activities, from information gathering to developing executive-ready deliverables.
• Analyze: Identify key insights and strategic implications by analyzing scientific literature, clinical data, and competitive developments.
• Build: Create and maintain structured datasets, dashboards, and scalable tools to support intelligence generation and data visualization.
• Communicate: Present findings clearly and effectively to cross-functional stakeholders to support timely strategic alignment.
• Support: Assist with broader strategic initiatives as needed, including business development evaluations and operational planning.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biomedical engineering) is required; PhD is strongly preferred. Must have a working knowledge of the life sciences and biopharmaceutical industry, including drug discovery, development, and commercialization.
• Experience: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, structured insights. Requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work product.
• Skills: Analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, synthesis of large volumes of complex information, effective written and verbal communication, self-driven and collaborative approach.
• Bonus: Experience with programming, data science, AI/ML tools, or computational workflows is a plus.
