The Tone:
This is a paid internship at the Media Research Center, located in Herndon, VA. As “America’s Media Watchdog,” the MRC is a pivotal organization dedicated to rigorously exposing and combating bias across news media, entertainment, and Big Tech. Through its diverse divisions, the center champions free speech, media accountability, and conservative values by delivering critical news analysis, original reporting, and impactful research. This program offers students a premier opportunity to play an active and direct role in fulfilling the MRC’s crucial mission to expose and neutralize left-wing media bias within a professional setting, thereby advancing their careers in conservative media.

• Mission: To actively contribute to exposing and neutralizing left-wing media bias across various platforms and divisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Media Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor extensive media coverage to identify and expose bias, and conduct in-depth research into online censorship and technology platforms.
• Written Content Development: Write blog content, script and research content for media issues, publish original news stories, and produce legal research and writing, including FOIA projects.
• Visual Content Production: Create compelling digital and print materials, including social media graphics, advertisements, and various marketing collateral.
• Strategic Outreach & Engagement: Assist with fundraising activities, manage donor relations, support government affairs outreach, and handle public relations tasks like pitching staff and building reporter lists.
• Technical & Administrative Support: Provide essential assistance with software, networking, technical support, and data management projects across the organization’s divisions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a higher education program, possessing a strong commitment to conservative values and a keen interest in media accountability, free speech, and combating bias.
• Experience: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with industry professionals within a mission-driven environment. Candidates for the Legal Fellow position must specifically be law students who have successfully completed their first year of study.
• Skills: Strong research and analytical capabilities for identifying media bias and online censorship; effective written communication abilities for reporting, blogging, and legal documentation; proficiency in creating digital or print content; effective interpersonal and organizational skills for outreach and administrative tasks.
