The Tone:
This is an internship at SavATree, located across multiple locations. SavATree is a company dedicated to preserving and caring for the nation’s trees, plants, and landscapes, offering comprehensive tree, shrub, and lawn care services. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and broaden knowledge of the green industry, fostering the development of future professionals in horticulture, arboriculture, or landscape management. Interns will engage in hands-on learning and gain exposure to real-world industry practices and business operations within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The TL;DR

• Location: Multiple Locations (In-person)
• Mission: To gain practical experience and broaden knowledge of the green industry through hands-on field work and exposure to business operations, supplementing classroom learning and strengthening technical skills.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Engage with skilled crews across General Tree Care, Plant Health Care, and Lawn Care teams.
• Execute: Perform hands-on field work, including pruning, plant health monitoring, and various maintenance tasks.
• Observe: Shadow Sales Arborists and office staff to understand operations, sales, and client relations within the business.
• Implement: Learn and consistently apply company safety protocols and industry best practices in all activities.
• Develop: Rotate through diverse service teams to broaden knowledge of the full breadth of tree, shrub, and lawn care.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Environmental or Plant Science, Botany, Urban Forestry, Turf, or a related field.
• Experience: Not specified for prior professional experience; willingness to apply classroom knowledge in practical, hands-on settings and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Skills: Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record; authorization to work lawfully in the U.S.; passion for the outdoors and commitment to environmental stewardship.
