About the Internship
At RSM, interns engage with a diverse range of companies, from large corporations to smaller businesses across various industries. A core focus of the internship is to develop strong working relationships with clients by deeply understanding their businesses and the unique challenges they face. Interns work on multiple team engagements throughout the year, contributing to several pieces of any particular assignment rather than being confined to just one part. This collaborative approach fosters a mutually respectful team environment, enabling associates to perform at their best and integrate their career with their personal life.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing clients with strategic, integrated tax solutions, with a focus on both outbound and inbound structuring.
- Demonstrating a general knowledge of foreign tax credits.
- Completing essential tax planning and research tasks.
- Developing an understanding of worldwide tax minimization strategies, transfer pricing principles, and accounting for income taxes.
- Assisting with IFRS/GAAP convergence projects and foreign assignment planning.
- Collaborating with businesses globally to build successful cross-border tax strategies.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Completion of 90 credit hours.
- Currently working towards a B.A. / B.S. / J.D. degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Accounting Major is required.
- Travel to assigned client locations is required. Candidates must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Ability to work and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
The compensation for this internship ranges from $34 – $40 per hour. Pay for successful candidates will reflect various factors considered in hiring decisions, including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, and location.
