International Payments Associate | JPMorgan Chase

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at JPMorgan Chase, located in-person in the USA. JPMorgan Chase is a Commercial Bank that supports US-headquartered companies in managing their international business needs. This position is crucial for the firm’s growth strategy by helping deliver credit, financing, treasury, payment, and international banking services to a diverse client base, including corporations, municipalities, and non-profits. The Associate assists senior specialists in fulfilling client requirements and identifying new opportunities, contributing directly to client success and firm expansion.

• Team: Reports to International Payments Specialists, collaborating with US-based Commercial Bankers, Treasury Management Officers, and other Product Specialists.
• Mission: To support US Headquartered companies with their international business needs by assisting International Payments Specialists in providing a range of banking services and identifying new sales opportunities.
• Tech Stack: Excel, PowerPoint

What You’ll Actually Do
• Service: Fulfill the specific non-US corporate banking needs for targeted prospects and clients of the firm.
• Implement: Assist colleagues in managing the implementation, onboarding, and ramping up of new business mandates from both clients and prospects.
• Develop: Uncover and thoroughly scope new sales opportunities within the firm’s existing client base to drive business growth.
• Maintain: Manage ongoing client relationships, which includes conducting pricing reviews, obtaining necessary exception approvals, and addressing legal or compliance reviews.
• Prepare: Ready for key client meetings by creating and updating presentation materials, performing comprehensive client research, and gathering relationship details from across the firm.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in finance, economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Three or more years of experience in corporate banking, corporate treasury, finance, consulting, or finance sales to mid-cap corporates. Requires at least one year of specific Treasury experience.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling global relationship building and maintenance. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills paired with strong attention to detail, alongside persistent and detailed follow-up.
• Bonus: A demonstrated interest in learning international corporate banking and global treasury concepts. Enjoys working in a client-facing role, with potential for future career advancement to managing their own client portfolio. Ability to thrive in an evolving work environment and learn through networking and peer-to-peer education.
