Internal Audit Intern

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Intern will gain invaluable real-world experience by applying learned knowledge of accounting and auditing principles. This dynamic role involves performing or assisting in the planning and execution of compliance, financial, and operational audits, as well as engaging in various special projects.

Through this comprehensive program, the Intern will delve into diverse auditing, operational, and accounting activities across the business, primarily focusing on various Las Vegas Caesars Entertainment locations. This individual will periodically interact with mid-level management and staff, gaining exposure to critical business functions and internal audit processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing a range of audits, including compliance, financial, and operational audits of business operations at various Caesars properties, with a primary focus on Las Vegas locations.
  • Contribute to the examination and evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of both information systems and business controls.
  • Assess and ensure compliance with pertinent regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and meticulously document business processes and controls, adhering strictly to established department standards.
  • Actively contribute to fostering strong relationships with property mid-management and staff.
  • Assist in presenting clear oral and written results of audit activities to various levels of management and staff.
  • Participate in a wide variety of ad hoc special projects, which may involve collaboration with mid-level corporate or property management.
  • Engage in enriching shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities in accounting, auditing, and operations alongside current professionals.

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for Gaming Employee Registration in Nevada. Applicants must be 21 years of age by the first day of the internship to be eligible for the Gaming Registration.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and auditing principles/standards, coupled with familiarity in various computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and adapt to a changing environment.

Language Skills

The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is essential. This role requires the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and employees, communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures, and effectively persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action. The capacity to effectively present information and/or a convincing argument to executives is also crucial.

Education/Experience

Candidates must be a college Junior/Senior (within a maximum of one year from graduation) or a Graduate student from an accredited four-year university. Preference will be given to those working toward an accounting major or a related field, with a strong foundation of sufficient courses in accounting and auditing.
