Investment Analyst Intern | Intermountain Health

The Tone:
This is an Investment Analyst Intern position at Intermountain Health, located in Salt Lake City, UT, with a hybrid work model. This role is crucial for supporting the Intermountain Ventures Investment Team, allowing an intern to contribute to strategic investment decisions in healthcare while gaining a deep understanding of the industry.

• Mission: To support the Investment Team in evaluating healthcare investment opportunities that align with Intermountain’s mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible.
• Tech Stack: Word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, database applications, internet applications, e-mail applications, scheduling applications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Opportunity Evaluation: Conduct thorough sourcing, screening, and due diligence on prospective investment opportunities, ensuring alignment with Intermountain’s mission of promoting the healthiest lives possible.
• Collaborative Participation: Actively attend and engage in team and department meetings, contributing to discussions and the collective evaluation of potential investment opportunities with the investment team.
• Project Execution: Take responsibility for specific assigned projects during the internship, demonstrating understanding of processes, accountability for results, and working independently or as part of a team to meet project timelines.
• Operational Support: Provide general assistance and project support to the department as needed, ensuring all contributions add tangible value to Intermountain Ventures’ operations and objectives.
• Professional Development: Gain exposure to various departmental functions by job shadowing different roles, fostering a comprehensive understanding of their contributions to the organization and working collaboratively on assigned tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student currently enrolled in an accredited institution, pursuing a degree in business or a technical field of study.
• Experience: Proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail, and scheduling applications, coupled with prior experience in roles that demanded effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication, self-motivation, the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively, keen attention to detail, knowledge of basic computer hardware, and the capability to travel within the Intermountain system if required.
• Bonus: Basic understanding of investing principles, venture capital, data privacy practices and laws, principles of analysis and modeling, and familiarity with industry-standard word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
