Telecommunications Real Estate & Operations Intern | TDS Telecommunications LLC
The Tone:
This is a paid internship at TDS Telecommunications LLC, located in Chicago, IL, operating on a hybrid schedule. TDS provides wireless infrastructure and broadband services through businesses including Array Digital Infrastructure, a leading owner and operator of over 4,400 cell towers nationwide. This role supports the management and optimization of a national portfolio of telecommunications real estate assets, including ground towers and related infrastructure. Interns gain practical exposure across asset management, leasing operations, data analytics, and process improvement within a critical infrastructure environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Support analysis of telecommunications real estate assets, leases, and portfolio performance.
• Lease Management: Assist with lease tracking, abstraction, documentation, and data accuracy.
• Data Reporting: Analyze operational, asset, or financial data and prepare clear summaries or dashboards.
• Process Improvement: Help document business processes, workflows, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaboration: Prepare reports, presentations, and insights for cross-functional teams, collaborating with asset management, leasing, finance, construction, and operations teams.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Urban Planning, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivots, and data organization. Requires a 12-month commitment, working 20 hours per week, with 8-10 hours in office Monday through Wednesday.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• Bonus: Interest in telecommunications infrastructure, real estate, or asset-based businesses. Exposure to commercial real estate leasing, contract review, asset performance analysis, data visualization or business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL, Python, R, process mapping, SOP creation, or enterprise/workflow systems (SiteTracker, Salesforce). Understanding of basic real estate or infrastructure concepts (leases, escalators, amendments).
