Job Title: Intern, Software Engineer

Department: Tax Technology

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to engineer and maintain high-quality software solutions.
  • Proactively debug and troubleshoot software issues, working in close coordination with team members to devise effective solutions.
  • Continuously optimize software performance and maintainability through diligent code refactoring practices.
  • Commit to continuous learning, staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and applying new knowledge to enhance work product.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirement: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent program.
  • Academic Standing: Upon completion of this internship, candidates must possess additional academic credits required to complete their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
  • Preferred GPA: A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong foundational understanding of programming languages such as C#, Angular, Typescript, SQL, Python.
    • Foundational understanding of Azure (or other cloud) concepts.
  • Mindset & Aptitude: Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, quantitative skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; a flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
  • Location & Travel:
    • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position.
    • Ability to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation (e.g., personal vehicle or public transportation).
    • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
