The Tone:
This is an internship at American Task Force on Lebanon, located in Washington, DC. This role is pivotal in supporting policy work spanning governance, economic recovery, security, and human development in Lebanon, offering an opportunity to contribute to U.S. foreign policy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data & Records Management: Compile, organize, and maintain internal data and records, including database management.
• Event & Office Operations: Assist with the planning and execution of events like the Annual Dinner, manage vendor communications, and support general office functions.
• Policy Research & Analysis: Monitor developments in U.S. foreign policy, Lebanon, and the Middle East, analyzing their implications for U.S.-Lebanon relations.
• Communications & Content Creation: Draft newsletters, social media posts, and press releases, and manage social media content using design programs.
• Legislative & Stakeholder Engagement: Track relevant Congressional legislation, summarize hearings, and assist with coordination of meetings with government officials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Must be a current undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate in International Relations/Affairs, Political Science, Government, or Middle Eastern Studies.
• Experience: Must commit at least 15 hours per week for a minimum of three months, working in ATFL’s Washington, D.C. office at least twice a week, including Wednesdays. Familiarity with U.S. foreign policy, Lebanon, and the Middle East is required.
• Skills: Strong organizational abilities, content creation, social media management, and analytical skills.
• Bonus: For Program and Operations Interns, strong organizational and detail-oriented skills are preferred. For Communications Interns, proficiency in social media and basic graphic design skills are preferred. For Government Affairs Interns, basic knowledge of the legislative and executive branches of government is preferred.
