Intern – Industrial Engineering – Colorado Springs, CO – Summer 2026

Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in paid intern opportunities at our site in Colorado Springs. Through this role, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will be integral to supporting our manufacturing operations by focusing on process optimization and capacity assessment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Time Studies: Perform detailed time studies on the manufacturing floor to analyze current processes.
  • Data Conversion: Convert findings from time studies into Yamazumi charts and clearly defined work-breakdown elements to visualize and understand workflow.
  • Manufacturing Engineering Support: Provide direct support to the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Production Management Support: Collaborate with Production Management to assess capacity and identify opportunities for improving workload balance across the production lines.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re the right fit for this role if you meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: You are currently studying Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience: You have basic experience conducting process time studies.
  • Technical Skills: You are comfortable and proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Communication Skills: You can communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Proactive & Flexible: You are a self-starter who can flex working hours across either 1st shift (05:00 to 15:30) or 2nd shift (14:00 to 22:00) to collect the required data, demonstrating adaptability to operational needs.
  • On-Site Engagement: You are comfortable working daily on the production floor in a cleanroom environment and engaging effectively with a diverse team including operators, engineers, production leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Physical & Cognitive Requirements: You must be able to successfully perform the minimum Physical, Cognitive, and Environmental job requirements, with or without accommodation for this position.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Pay Range: The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00 to $28.00, plus overtime eligible.
  • Compensation Factors: The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
  • Hiring Practice: At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
