Intern, Financial Operations & Business Analytics – Fall 2026/Winter 2027 | BMW Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at BMW Group, located in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. BMW Group is a global automotive finance organization. This role offers exposure to various aspects of financial reporting, controlling, and accounting, providing the opportunity to develop crucial skills in data analysis, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. The intern will directly support the organization’s financial operations and strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Coordinate, prepare, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for various BMW Group companies.
• Compliance & Audit: Monitor and analyze transaction performance, supporting SEC compliance and external audit requirements.
• Risk Management: Validate risk costs and parameters, assess appropriateness, reconcile variances, and support risk reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Data Analysis & BI: Perform advanced analytics using tools like Tableau and SAS, and contribute to the implementation of streamlined reporting processes.
• Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining and enhancing the control environment in compliance with BMW Group guidelines and collaborate on designing new internal control systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university in Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field, having completed at least 60 college credit hours. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Relevant coursework or prior internship experience in finance, accounting, or data analysis is required. Candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and possess US Work Authorization.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, including creating impactful dashboards and reports. Familiarity with financial reporting and accounting software like SAP and Oracle Financials.
• Bonus: A basic understanding of programming languages such as Python and SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques, and prior BMW Group experience.
